Snow will continue to expand from the midwestern to the northeastern United States into Monday.
Snowfall totals have already exceeded half a foot in some areas, including across southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
As the rate of snow intensifies throughout the event, roads will quickly become slippery and snow-covered, and travel will become increasingly more treacherous.
The snowstorm developed over the northern Plains to end this past week. One to 3 inches of snow was reported across central South Dakota and northern Nebraska as the storm ramped up on Friday night.
Snow has moved into Buffalo, New York, in time for the start of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills game on Sunday afternoon.
