Let’s just say that this year’s Black History month hasn’t been filled with the most uplifting and invigorating respect. From Gucci releasing a “Black Face” inspired sweater, to pop singer Katy Perry’s fashion line including a pair of shoes featuring the same kind of theme.


Katy Perry’s Shoes:

Now we can add the luxury designer Burberry to the list. The retailer said it has removed an item from their collection that showcases a hoodie that features a noose around the neck during a show at London Fashion Week.

“We are deeply sorry for the distress caused by one of the products that featured in our A/W 2019 runway collection,” Marco Gobbetti, Burberry chief executive officer, said in a statement provided to CNN.”Though the design was inspired by the marine theme that ran throughout the collection, it was insensitive and we made a mistake,” he added. The design was criticized by model Liz Kennedy, who featured in the show but claimed her concerns about the use of a noose were dismissed.
