She earned her B.A. degree in Speech & Drama from Fisk University and completed a Master of Arts program in Radio, TV Film at Bowling Green University. A native of Toledo, Ohio Ms. Mitchell broke the color barrier as the very first African American woman TV news reporter in her hometown. She enjoyed a fast rise to work at major stations in Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Boston before settling in metro Detroit to be closer to family. She also worked as a news reporter at both WJBK-TV and WXYZ -TV in Detroit. Her successful career in television news led her to form her own agency, Media Consultants. She represents a wide variety of clients, providing Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising services.
