Michael Alan Schwartz, who has been practicing law for over 43 years, is licensed in Michigan and New York as well as in several federal jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of the United States.. Prior to coming to Michigan, he was an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York and Deputy Chief Counsel to the Committee on Grievances of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

In 1979, Mr. Schwartz came to Michigan upon being appointed Grievance Administrator of the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission. During his tenure, the Commission gained national attention as one of the leading disciplinary agencies in the nation. Following his service as Grievance Administrator, Mr. Schwartz entered private practice and has been with several notable law firms in the Metropolitan Detroit area, as well as serving as general counsel to two broadcast companies. He has co-authored the leading treatise on Michigan attorney discipline, Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct and Disciplinary Procedure, published by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), as well as authoring numerous law review and law journal articles on the subjects including real estate, ethics and professional discipline. He has served as Adjunct Professor of Law at Wayne State University School of Law and at the University of Detroit School of Law.

Currently, Mr. Schwartz is principal at SCHWARTZ, PLLC, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, where, amongst other areas, he concentrates on professional disciplinary defense, ethics counseling, and expert witness work involving issues concerning standards of care in legal practice.
