All Detroit Public School Community District schools are closed on Monday due to the snow, the district announced Sunday night.

More than 300 schools across southeastern Michigan are closed Monday as the region copes with the first major winter storm of the year.

Snowfall totals are expected to top 10-inches in several cities in Metro Detroit, with the storm only beginning to let up early Monday morning. Faced with a major task of clearing streets and sidewalks, hundreds of schools have already announce snow days.
